Today’s episode looks a little different.
Dallas is coming to you from Durham, North Carolina, after 14 days away from home and following Finley’s 29th surgery.
And today, there is so much to be grateful for.
After weeks of pain, uncertainty, hospital stays, and prayer, Finley’s doctors believe they found the area that had been causing much of her discomfort. During surgery, they were able to remove the plate, deliver antibiotics directly to that area, and examine the rest of her eye.
Everything else looked great.
There was another answer to prayer that meant more than most people could know.
After going under anesthesia 29 times, Finley came out of anesthesia better than Dallas has ever seen her come out of it. After everything Finley has endured—and the anxiety that comes with another surgery—that moment was a tremendous answer to prayer.
The Fears family knows they are not out of the woods yet. There is still healing ahead and more they are waiting to see.
But today, they are choosing gratitude.
Gratitude for the doctors and nurses who have cared for Finley.
Gratitude for progress.
Gratitude for every prayer offered on her behalf.
And gratitude for a God who continues to show up in the middle of the story.
If you are walking through your own season of uncertainty, this episode is a reminder that waiting for the ending doesn’t mean God isn’t working in the middle.
God is still writing.
Thank you to everyone who has prayed for Finley and supported the Fears family throughout this journey. Your prayers have meant more than you know.
